An adaption of E. Grieg’s famous piece “in the hall of the mountain king” from the Peer Gynt Suite.
Actually Grieg sent P. Gynt already to Africa, but only to the Maghreb. I sent him a bit further to sub Sahara Africa. More precisely to a region in upper Guinea “Hamana”. Originally the piece is in 4/4 time. I decided to let it swing, so it came rhythmically closer to the typical 6/8 grooves from Hamana.
